Georgy Sergeevich Ivanov
Head of the Braukraft Bureau
A highly experienced brewer with over 28 years of expertise, Georgy Sergeevich Ivanov is an engineer-technologist, innovator, and author of scientific and popular articles on brewing. He has developed successful recipes loved by consumers, including non-alcoholic sparkling beverages, juice drinks, kvass, and beer. His professional background includes positions as an engineer-technologist and lead brewer at notable companies such as Coca-Cola HBC Eurasia, the iconic club-restaurant Jagger Club, and the legendary restaurant-brewery Karl and Friedrich. Currently, he serves as a sought-after expert consultant, providing auditing and optimization services for brewing and carbonated beverage production facilities in Russia and abroad.
Professional Experience
Georgy Sergeevich began his career at the legendary St. Petersburg breweries Stepan Razin and Polyustrovo, initially working as a shift technologist and later heading the production of lemonades, juice-based drinks, nectars, and mineral waters. During this time, he developed and implemented numerous recipes. He personally brewed some of the earliest batches of the beloved Vasileostrovsky Kvass and Vasileostrovsky Home and Dark Beer, widely appreciated by St. Petersburg residents.
He trained under German brewers, acquiring valuable expertise and embracing the traditions of German brewing culture. Working alongside German specialists significantly broadened his professional outlook, enabling him to skillfully combine Russian brewing practices with the best traditions of European beer production.
At Coca-Cola, where he worked as a syrup production and water treatment engineer-technologist, he gained invaluable insights into manufacturing culture, quality control, sanitation, production optimization, and technological workflows in leading global companies. This unique experience, unfortunately, is no longer accessible to many Russian professionals today. During his tenure at Coca-Cola, Georgy Sergeevich not only excelled as an engineer-technologist but also received multiple commendations for his innovative proposals, which improved production processes across all of the company's Russian facilities.
Later, he established and led the brewing operations at St. Petersburg's renowned Jagger Club, where exceptional beer was brewed to accompany concerts by world-famous rock bands and hosted friendly gatherings of brewers.
